๐จ Color Coding for
Aircraft Calendar Trip Detail Card
The color displayed on an aircraft calendar trip detail card
is determined by a system of prioritization that checks different
statuses in a specific, predefined order. The first status in the list that
meets a color-coding condition will determine the color for the entire card,
overriding any lower-priority statuses.
The goal is to ensure the most critical state of
the trip leg is immediately obvious to the user.
You will find the color legend at the upper right corner of the Calendar Module.
๐ฆ Priority Order of Color
Determination
Viewing the priority in the order of the
flight's logical progression helps users understand when the
color will change as a trip moves from planning to completion.
Progression of Status (Lowest Priority to Highest Priority)
The system checks the following statuses in the logical
order of a flight's journey, with Priority 1 being the lowest
and Priority 4 being the highest:
Priority Rank | Status Field | Status Values that Determine Color | Source of Color Definition | Logical Stage and Explanation |
1 (Lowest) | Flight Status | Scheduled, Confirmed, Released | Flight Status Config | Planning/Dispatch: This is the base color for a
flight in its initial, stable planning state. It is only displayed when no
higher-priority operational events have occurred. |
2 | Flight Tracking Status | All active tracking status values (e.g., On Time, Delayed,
Diverted) | Flight Status Config | Pre-Operational/Monitoring: This status often changes
based on external data feeds. It takes precedence over the basic planning
status (Priority 1) to indicate real-time monitoring alerts (e.g., a Delayed color). |
3 | Flight Log Status | All active log status values (e.g., Logged, Verified) | Flight Log Config | Active Operations: This status is manually logged by
the crew and represents the current, most granular operational state of the
aircraft. This color overrides both tracking and planning statuses. |
4 (Highest) | Flight Status | Cancelled or Completed | Flight Status Config | Final State: This is the definitive, immutable end
state of the trip leg. When active, it immediately sets the card's color
(e.g., Red for Cancelled) and overrides all other statuses,
regardless of their logged or tracked value.

๐ Key Takeaway for Users
The color you see is the most urgent or relevant status for
the flight's current operational phase, following a strict hierarchy.
A Completed or Cancelled status
always takes precedence.
An active
flight log (e.g., Airborne) takes precedence over passive tracking
(e.g., Enroute).
A basic
scheduled state (e.g., Confirmed) is only shown if the leg hasn't
entered a higher-priority operational state.
