Integration: DHS (TSA Vetting) Setup in Horizon

Integration: DHS (TSA Vetting) Setup in Horizon

Overview

This guide walks you through the steps required to enable DHS (TSA Secure Flight Vetting) within Horizon. This is a one-time setup that requires notifying TSA and then providing details to be enabled in Horizon.

Step 1: Send TSA Forgo Testing Notice

Before Horizon can enable vetting, you must notify TSA that you are relying on Portside’s testing.

Send Email To

(Include your assigned Principal Security Specialist if applicable.)

Requirements

  • Use your company letterhead

  • Must be signed (digital or manual)

  • Signed by President, AOSC, or authorized representative

  • Send as an attachment to the email

Email Subject

{{CompanyName}}, Forgo Testing

Email Body

{{CompanyName}} the regulated party, elects to abstain/forgo individual testing with TSA’s Secure Flight and/or Aviation Employee Vetting program(s). {{CompanyName}} is relying on the testing our contracted service provider, Portside, Inc, has performed on our behalf. TSA will support individual testing with any AO electing to do so.

Step 2: Send Details to Horizon Support

Once your email has been sent to TSA, provide the following to Horizon Support:

  • Carrier Code

  • FAA Certificate Number

Step 3: Horizon Configuration (by your Horizon Support Rep)

Info
Horizon Support will complete this step for you, but it is helpful to understand what is happening.

Your Carrier Code and Certificate Number are added in the Admin Portal and marked as Allowed, which enables TSA vetting for your account.

What to Look For

  • Add TSA Certificate Registration (left arrow): Used to enter your Carrier Code and Certificate Number

  • Carrier Code & FAA Certificate Number fields: Your provided values are entered here

  • Allowed = True (right arrow): Must be enabled for vetting to work

Step 4: Complete Integration Setup

Once your registration is marked as Allowed, you can proceed with configuring the DHS/TSA integration in Horizon using your provided integration details.

Important Notes

  • TSA still allows individual testing if you choose to pursue it

  • Vetting will not function until:

    1. TSA notification is sent

    2. Horizon Support enables your Carrier Code and Certificate Number

Summary

  1. Send TSA Forgo Testing notice

  2. Provide Carrier Code and FAA Certificate Number to Horizon Support

  3. Horizon enables your account (Allowed = True)

  4. Complete integration setup in Horizon

Once completed, DHS (TSA Vetting) will be active in your environment.
