Maintenance

Flight Release Reset Based On Maintenance Event

When a maintenance event is added to an aircraft, if there are any flights within the offline period that are already released, the system will automatically unrelease them.

Operations/Scheduling

Scheduling Templates

On the Calendar views (not including Scheduling), users with the relevant admin permissions can setup scheduling templates that can be made visible to individuals in the organization or to specific groups. For each template, the information for each event type card can be configured with a wide array of information. When users access the calendars who have templates shared with them, they can switch between views easily.

Flight Following Updates

A link is auto-generated for each flight to support real-time flight tracking outside your organization. For recipients of the flight following notification emails (departure and arrivals), the link will be included automatically, and it can be copied from the Horizon system for each distribution. The link pulls up real-time positioning information for the flight including time en-route, estimated time of arrival and key trip/flight data.

Service Task Updates

The service/task entry screen has been streamlined to easily see both tasks and services in one location, and entry for services per leg/trip are simplified.

Service Search Improvements

The services search has been updated to support the standard search functions that are offered in the other pages including column ordering, custom grouping and row grouping.

Flight Search Improvements

The flight search has been updated to allow for each service/task type to be added as a column on the view. If there are services on the leg, it will show the airport it is for along with the background color will reflect the status. For any services tied to the trip (not a specific leg), those will show for each leg on the trip. Users can change the status of the service directly from the page.

Default Trip Persons By Mission Type

Different default person types can be added to each mission type which will pre-populate a spot when that mission type is used to select the relevant people.

Expenses Tied To Personnel Events

If a user has the Person Activity Expenses permission selected on their user roles, they will now be able to add expenses to crew activities. This can be done from the calendar/schedule pages or within the main Activities search page.

Retail Fuel Price

If operators want the crews or dispatcher to capture the retail fuel price at an airport to compare against contract rates, a field has been added to the flight log on the web and in the mobile app (pending release to the app store).

Flight Following Settings

On an account profile, users can now designate whether they want to send out flight following notifications for trips on the account in general, and if they do, whether they want to send them based on the account level, or down to specific contracts. If Account is selected, any person that has the Flight Following group applied to their profile, and is directly linked to that account will get notifications when the account is flying. If it is down to the contract, then users can associate specific people to a contract for flight following, and it will only send to them when that contract is used on the trip.

In addition, the Flight Tracking section has been moved out of the Integrations tab in a trip and under the Flight Tracking tab. Flight Following contacts for the leg will display, and can be removed or new ones added on a flight by flight basis.

Expanded Calendar Legend

The calendar and schedule legend has been expanded to cover all of the visual elements and colors on the views to provide more clarity.

Expense Entry Updates

In order to resolve an issue where the expense type was being set to the incorrect value, the expense edit functionality had to be updated to require a save action when changes are done instead of it being saved when clicking out of a field entry box.

Itinerary Entry Improvements

When adding legs to an itinerary, a new leg will automatically be added once the user enters or tabs through the arrival date/times of the leg, and they can easily tab to the next leg to minimize clicks. If the leg you are entering is the last leg of the itinerary, you can just leave it there without an arrival airport and it will ignore it in the final itinerary.

In addition, a new setting has been added to the System configuration called "Add Leg Tab To Field". Based on what is selected here, when the user tabs to the next leg, it will automatically jump to that field next. For example, if the typical workflow for the organization when adding legs is to enter the leave the date the same as the previous legs arrival, but to update the departure time, it it would be set to ETDLocalTime.
