Airports Module – Airport Contacts Overview

Overview

This article describes the Contacts tab within an Airport record (example shown: G. Bush Intercontinental – KIAH). The Contacts section provides key communication details for the airport’s operational units, service providers, and government offices such as customs and flight service stations.

It centralizes phone numbers, frequencies, and operating hours that flight crews, dispatchers, and operations personnel rely on when planning and executing missions.

Who it’s for: Flight operations, dispatch, ground coordination, and airport data administrators.




Page Layout

Header and Navigation

  • Airport Context: The header shows the selected airport (e.g., G. Bush Intercontinental KIAH).

  • Navigation Tabs:
    Located directly under the header, allowing users to switch between related datasets:

    • Map

    • Runways

    • Contacts (current view)

    • Services

    • Catering

    • FBOs

    • Fuel

    • Hangar

    • Hotels

    • Maintenance

    • Ground Trans

    • Documents

    • Notes

    • Audit Logs

  • Add New Contact: Top right button allows you to add a new contact card for a specific department, organization, or function.


Contact Panels

Each panel represents a contact category or department and can contain one or more subcontacts, each with its own communication details and associated notes.

1. Flight Service

Example: Montgomery County – UV Flight Service

  • Purpose: General flight information or flight planning support for the airport region.

  • Displayed Fields:

    • Contact Name (e.g., FlightService)

    • Phone Number (clickable link)

  • Usage: For flight plan filing, weather briefings, and NOTAM coordination.


2. Airport

Example: UV Airport Operations

  • Purpose: Central operational contacts for tower and ATIS.

  • Displayed Fields:

    • Tower and ATIS phone numbers (click-to-call)

    • Frequencies table listing:

      • Departure

      • UNICOM

      • Approach

      • ATIS

      • Clearance Delivery

      • Ground (GND)

      • Tower

    • Hours: Operating hours for tower or overall airport (UTC or local time format)

Tip: Frequencies are key for flight crews; ensure they match the latest FAA or AIP publication.


3. Customs / FBO

Example: FBO: Atlantic or Signature // Homebase Hangars

  • Purpose: Contact details for Customs, Immigration, and Agriculture offices serving the airport.

  • Displayed Fields:

    • Contacts:

      • Customs

      • Agriculture

      • Immigration

    • Each includes clickable phone numbers.

    • Hours of Operation: Standardized across weekdays and weekends (e.g., Mon–Fri: 0500–2359LT; Sat/Sun: 0500–2359LT).

    • Note: Free-text field displaying special instructions like prior notice requirements or after-hours availability.
