Overview

This article provides an overview of the Services tab within an Airport record (example shown: G. Bush Intercontinental – KIAH). The Services section centralizes vendor and facility information available at or near an airport—such as Catering, Charter, Cleaning, Fuel, Handlers, Hangars, and Hotels.

This information supports flight operations, dispatchers, and crew planners in coordinating ground logistics, inflight support, and crew accommodations.

Who it’s for: Operations control, dispatch, scheduling, and ground coordination personnel.


Page Layout

Header and Navigation

  • Airport Selector: Displays the selected airport (e.g., G. Bush Intercontinental KIAH).

  • Navigation Tabs:
    Located directly beneath the header, these tabs allow you to move through various airport datasets:

    • Map

    • Runways

    • Contacts

    • Services (current view)

    • Catering

    • FBOs


    • Fuel

    • Hangar

    • Hotels

    • Maintenance

    • Ground Transportation

    • Documents

    • Notes

    • Audit Logs

  • Add (+) and Edit (pencil) icons appear next to each category, allowing authorized users to add or modify entries.


Key Sections on the Services Tab

The Services tab is organized into multiple expandable panels, each representing a type of service or amenity. Below are the most common categories and how they are used.

1. Catering

Lists inflight catering providers that serve the airport.
Typical fields include:

  • Vendor Name (e.g., ASN Catering, Central Market, Abby’s Catering)

  • Phone Number (click-to-call)

  • Address (clickable link to map)

  • Distance (from the airport)

  • Edit (pencil) to update contact details

Use Case: Crew schedulers and flight attendants use this section to contact approved caterers, verify lead times, and arrange food deliveries.


2. Charter

Displays charter service companies operating from or supporting the airport.
Tip: Include only vetted or contracted operators to ensure compliance with company standards.


3. Aircraft Cleaning Services

Lists cleaning and detailing vendors for aircraft interior/exterior.
Use this when scheduling post-flight or pre-departure cleaning.


4. FBOs (Fixed Base Operators)

Shows all FBOs serving the airport, typically with:

  • Company name

  • Contact details

  • Address or ramp location

  • Services offered (fueling, handling, lounges)

Example: Atlantic Aviation, Signature Flight Support.


5. FBO Conference Room

Indicates available conference room facilities within FBOs, with booking contacts and hours.


6. Fuel

Lists available fuel providers and types (Jet-A, 100LL, etc.), including on-site FBOs or third-party vendors.

Tip: Keep pricing and fuel availability up to date if your organization tracks cost differentials for dispatch planning.


7. Handler

Displays ground handling service providers for arrivals, departures, and turnarounds.


8. Hangar

Shows hangar facilities and contact information for aircraft parking or overnight storage.

Recommended Info to Record:

  • Capacity or size limits

  • Heated/cooled status

  • Availability (short-term, long-term, transient)


9. Hotels

Lists crew and passenger accommodation options near the airport, with key details:

  • Hotel Name (e.g., Omni Houston at Westside, Holiday Inn Houston Hwy 249 North, Marriott North at Greenspoint, Homewood Suites Kingwood)

  • Phone Number

  • Address (clickable to map)

  • Distance from Airport

  • Edit Option for updates

Use Case: Crew scheduling teams use this to select layover hotels based on distance, amenities, or contract rates.


Common Features and Functions

Show InactiveCheckbox to display inactive or expired vendors/services. Useful for historical reference or seasonal providers.
Edit (Pencil Icon)Opens an editable form for updating contact info, address, or notes.
Add New (+)Allows creation of a new record under the selected category.
Click-to-CallPhone numbers are clickable for easy dialing from supported devices.
Linked AddressAddress fields open a map view for navigation or verification.

How to Add or Edit a Service Record

Add a New Vendor or Service

  1. Click the + icon beside the category (e.g., Catering).

  2. Enter:

    • Company Name

    • Phone Number

    • Address

    • Website (optional)

    • Distance (optional)

  3. Click Save.

Edit Existing Vendor Information

  1. Click the Edit (pencil) icon next to the existing record.

  2. Modify any details as needed.

  3. Click Save to confirm.
